Promoting MiEV technology as the core environmental technology.

“MiEV” is for “Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle” and the general term of the electric vehicles which equipped numbers of Mitsubishi Motors’ innovative technologies such as large capacity Lithium-ion battery, compact-and-high-performance motor, etc. There are several environmental issues which automotives have to resolve, such as “preventing environmental pollution”, “preventing global warming” and, now a days “energy diversification” from the view-point of “extrication from dependency on oil”. Mitsubishi Motors has been promoting “MiEV” as its core technology to resolve those three tasks and continued development intensively. As the result, Mitsubishi Motors has achieved to present the new generation electric vehicle “i-MiEV”, which leads the world in mass-production. Mitsubishi Motors is tackling also on several development other than MiEV, such as refining existing engines, developing clean diesels and green plastics, to adopt the rapidly increasing need for environment-friendly vehicles by the rising petrol price and serious global warming.
